Fashioning Artifacts

In 2000, the artist had her first solo exhibition of works on paper with Sears Peyton Gallery in NYC. Since then, her collaged and woven works have been featured in galleries and museums internationally, as well as textile journals and publications. She has also been a curator and materials contributor for Romanian Creative Week, Romanian Design Week, and select art and design venues in the Balkans. In 2021, her work was auctioned at Sotheby's France as part of Unwrapped, Part II: The Hidden World of Christo and Jeanne-Claude.

Recent artifacts incorporate handmade papyrus, printed ephemera, and recycled fiber and garments gathered during travels in rural settings across Eastern Europe and Italy. This fabrication and materials research explores how fashioning might (re) connect us with craftsmanship, personal narratives, and place.

This evolving collection references fashion concepts and intuitive aspects of making or remaking. In some instances, this process encourages the artist to step back to allow an artifact or grouping of artifacts to exist as is.
